Building Digital UK (BDUK) has launched a public review into broadband availability in Essex, in preparation for Project Gigabit - the government's programme to reach homes and businesses with gigabit-capable broadband.
The term "Gigabit" refers to download speeds capable of 1,000Mbps / 1Gbps.
The purpose of the public review is to identify those who are not expected to benefit from this commercial investment.
If the map shows your address with a grey box: - gigabit connectivity already exists, or there are plans to get gigabit connectivity to you within three years - You do not need to contact BDUK unless you disagree with this.
If the map shows your address with a yellow box: - BDUK is not aware of any plans to get gigabit connectivity to you within three years - If you agree with this, or you are aware of any plans, please let BDUK know.
Responding to this public review is important as it will allow BDUK to validate the eligibility of Essex premises for government subsidy. You can respond by following the steps linked here.
Please respond by 5pm on 4th November 2022.
